Whether you would like to get more out of your own PWC or are keen to learn the ropes before buying one, or want a great day out with friends or family with the added bonus of everyone learning how to safely use a Personal Watercraft, this course covers it all. No previous experience is necessary, and the course will give all participants the confidence and knowledge to safely operate a personal watercraft.
The RYA PW Proficiency Certificate is recognised by most UK insurers, many of whom offer a discount to holders. Many local harbour authorities, Tor Bay included, offer launching discounts to holders and some UK harbour authorities will not permit you to launch without one. You must have the certificate if you plan to use your PW abroad.

Personal Watercraft (PWC’s) or Jet Skis, as they are commonly known, are versatile, fun and exhilarating but you must know the limitations of your craft.
Typically, students will bring their own craft to these courses (which we encourage). However, ski hire is available for the course, at a price of £105.
This one-day course teaches the basics of riding a PWC quickly confidently and safely, the rules of the road, how to avoid a collision, slow speed manoeuvres, high-speed control and what to do in case of an emergency. By the end of the day participants aim to leave with an RYA qualification and certificate that many locations insist on before launching.
